About Our Church
The Martin Luther King, Jr. Church is a church
“Making the Gospel Live.” This is our theme and goal, to give flesh to the Gospel. This is a fellowship that abounds in the love of Jesus and the desire to follow Christ on a personal and collective level.
The members of the church come from many denominational backgrounds to share in the life and mission of Jesus Christ. Because of our diversity, we have moved in a greater way to celebrate our oneness in Christ.
The church was organized in 1977, and is celebrating 49 years of work and witnessing. We continue to grow through weekly worship, virtually and in person, weekly Bible Study, Women’s Ministry, Men’s Fellowship, Weekly Meaningful Moments with God and outreach opportunities.
We praise God for His continuing witness and pray that as years go on, we will continue to meet the challenge of being greater witnesses in the name of Jesus Christ.

Our Pastor
Rev. Darrell Greene is a native Baltimorean.
He grew up in the Mt. Winans Community
of Baltimore City. He attended the
Baltimore City Public Schools graduating
from the Frederick Douglass High School.
He then attended Morgan State College
(now University) where he received a degree
in Business Education. He also has a Master
of Theology Degree from St. Mary’s
Seminary and University. He also has an
honorary Doctor of Divinity from the Harold
A. Carter Biblical and Theological Institute .
Rev. Greene was licensed and ordained at
the New Shiloh Baptist Church. He was
called to the pastorate of Martin Luther King
Church in 1980.
Rev. Greene taught in the Baltimore City
Public School system for 37 1/2 years before
retiring.
Rev. Greene is married to Mrs. Brenda
Greene. They are the proud parents of one so, Darrell II.

We offer engaging services and programs that inspire individuals and families, promoting unity, faith, and outreach that enrich the spiritual lives of our members and the wider community.
